Former president Pervez Musharraf appeared in special court amid tight security today (Tuesday)
Heavy contingent of police and Rangers personnel escorted the former military ruler from the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) to special court.
It may be mentioned here that the special court had summoned him to appear on February 18 warning a non-bailable arrest warrant would be issued if he failed to do so.
Previously, Musharraf did not attend any of the hearings of the special court formed by the government last year to try him on charges of high treason for imposing emergency.
He was admitted to a military hospital in Rawalpindi after he developed heart problems on January 2.
Musharraf faces treason charges under for suspending, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts.
